Work on the EW Cargo review is slow but progressing. My aim is to have it finalised and published on the Web Site by the end of October.
To give you a look at the cargo routes to be serviced by our 747-400F aircraft, here is a PDF document showing flight numbers and route info. If you feel inclined, you're most welcome to fly any or all now. There are great flights in there.

When we announced a review of our Cargo schedules back in October 2006, following on from release of our MD11F schedules, the time it would take to review and finalise our Boeing 727-200F and Boeing 747 freighter schedules was grossly underestimated and we apologise for the delay. That said, as the B74F schedules develop, it is becoming clear that the end product will be top quality based on research into current and existing air cargo operations. The main Asian, European and North American air cargo hubs are represented and there will also be flights into airports identified as rapidly growing.

For example, only today we learned that MASkargo operates a B742 service to Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport in China which means we have the option of routing a 747F through KL to Hangzhou and on to Amsterdam as MASkargo does. Lufthansa Cargo has been "persuaded" by the Russian Govenment to relocate its Asian cargo hub from Kazakstan (presumably Almaty UAAA) to Krasnojarsk (UNKL), offering us the opportunity to route a service through one of the Chinese hubs to UNKL and on to Frankfurt. Jade Cargo operates a service from Shenzhen to Liepzig and we'd look to extend that on to Louisville (KDSF), the latter being a significant U.S. cargo-handling airport. Taipei-based China Airlines will be the first Asian carrier to offer full-freight cargo transport into Prague which opens up a route YMML-RCTP-LKPR.
VH-EBG operating EWF705 at Mumbai (VABB - ex YMML).
You're unlikely to find places like Nagpur, Lahore, Stockholm and/or Toronto in any Oz-based VA's Logisitcs schedules but they will feature in the final EastWest Cargo schedules. Having the flexibility to draw on the routes and scedules of such cargo operators as Atlas, Cargolux, Emirates, FedEx, Jade, Lufthansa and Polar cargo routes and schedules, we're quite excited about the range and depth of virtual flying activity our new B74F schedules will offer, both as EW Cargo or codeshare arrangements.
Another view of VH-EBG operating EWF705 at Mumbai (VABB - ex YMML).
We'll put up an amended PDF showing the additional routes as soon as possible. With 15 flights being completed thus far, EWF705 YMML-VABB-EBLG-EGPK is presently being flown. It will take time but most likely you'll find the time spent on this project well worth it once the schedules are published. Thanks for your patience. _________________ Andrew Watson

|
|
Some information for flight planning purposes when flying our POSKY Boeing 747-400 Freighter, VH-EBG.
Suggested figures for calculation are -
51.875 lbs/nm
410.903 lbs/min
Example:
ZGSZ-EDDP - 4970nm
TAXI 1000
EDDP 4970 x 51.875 = 257819
ALTN 183 x 51.785 = 9493 (ALTN EDDF)
FIXED RES 30 x 410.903 = 12327
HOLD 20 x 410.903 = 8218
VARIABLE RESERVE 257819 x 10 / 100 = 25782
FUEL REQD = 314639
Having using these average figures over a long period of time, they have proved both accurate and reliable.
If anyone has anything to add, please do so. _________________ Andrew Watson
